Why in french?
This blog is not the official GeeXboX blog. It is only my blog about the project. I write in french for three reasons.
- I speak french.
- Most of these entries are long (very long).
- My english is very simple.
I use this blog like a notepad. I can’t remember all the reasons why I use a specific way to implement something. Then this blog is useful to me when after a lot of months/years, I must change a part where it is easy to add regressions (for example). Or maybe I’m not sure on a point then I can find the informations in an entry. I write in french mostly for this goal. And I share the informations like a source code can be shared.
To write in english will be useful for all people which are interested to libplayer and libvalhalla (at least). Yes, I know that to read the french is a bit difficult. I know that the translations provided by Google are not exceptional. Like said previously, my english is very simple. Then it takes many time to write in english instead of french (and it takes already many time in french because the entries are long). And it is not very useful for me. Nevertheless, I am writing documentation (for libvalhalla) in english. When it’s done, it will be available in the sources. I don’t know when it will be finished. This year.. I hope :-).
But for now.. I’m sure that people which are interested to libplayer and libvalhalla can understand how to use/hack, just by reading the source codes. And the public API is documented in english with Doxygen. There are the architectures (libplayer and libvalhalla) available in the DOCS/ directories.
